what is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, sterile, small metallic needles
which are then activated through gentle and specific movements of my hands or with electrical stimulation.
Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners consider the human body having more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways, sometimes calls meridians.
These pathways create an energy flow called Qi (pronounced "chee") through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause pain and disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points is thought to improve the flow of Qi.
When your energy, or Qi, flows well, your body responds by functioning better and your health improves. Differing from chiropractors and MDs who offer acupuncture treatments, I am an RN who has been trained in acupuncture on the master’s level with over 1,000 hours of clinical practice and am nationally certified.

From our discussion of your signs and symptoms, I will diagnose a “pattern of disharmony” specific to your problem and provide you with a unique treatment plan of acupuncture and possibly other treatments such as electrical stimulation to needles (don’t panic, it doesn’t hurt!), heat therapy, “cupping”, MagnaWave PEMF, low-level light therapy, essential oils, or massage.
From the perspective of Chinese medicine, patients with a single condition as defined by Western biomedicine may have one of several Chinese medical patterns, each of which requires a different treatment.
